Roland and PricklesWhat a great weekend!!!!

Due to hurricane/tornadic/apocalyptic storms on Saturday, many of the club members only ventured down to AAS on Sunday........but boy did we tear it up. Jumping lasted from sunrise to sunset, including some hot 4-way, 5-way, coaching jumps and hop-n-pops (by far the best type of jump!!!). Ian and Sweet pea made some great jumps this weekend, shaking off the rust of a long layoff. Ian, who was trying to land once or twice near the pea pit in order to qualify for his B-License, ended up landing either in the peas or 1 foot away form the peas 5 JUMPS IN A ROW!!!!! You rock Ian (aka 1st person in history to qualify for a pro rating before he has a B-License)!

Nathan decided to board the plane Sunday morning without a parachute!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, he's not stupid, he was helping Sweet Willy (the newest AAS Tandem instructor) get his last jump with an experience skydiver for his tandem rating. Terror has never been seen in someone's eyes as vividly as it was in Nathan's on that ride to altitude. I believe that is your FIRST time as a licensed tandem passenger........

On a separate note, the Virginia Tech Skydiving Club went to the next level this weekend with their hackey-sacking abilities. Sacks were being hacked in ways previously thought impossible, as we accomplished the illusive 4-way TRIPLE HACK!!!!! Thanks to Woolly for loaning us the hack that made all this possible. We love you man!

8 Virginia Tech students also took the plunge this weekend doing their first tandems and officially became SKYDIVERS!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to you all, now you're only problem will be telling your fellow dorm-mates that you won't be around any more on the weekends because you've experienced the most Extreme sport there is, and you want to do it all the time!

If you don't want to be one of those people that sit around in their dorm room all weekend eating TV dinners and watching reruns of Save By The Bell, then EMAIL Skydive@vt.edu to schedule your first tandem skydive. If you're interested in making your first skydive, come by Squires TONIGHT (Monday, April 10) at 6pm for an info meeting just for YOU and other first timers only! Learn what's it's like to skydive, what it feels like, how much it costs, where we jump, can you jump naked, and any other questions you may have! Come on out! Do it!
